Die Verleihung des "Internationalen Preises für Kunst und Kultur 2020" des Salzburger Kulturfonds ist ein schöner Auftakt zum 40 Jahre Jubiläum des Fotohof im kommenden Jahr.![]()

Erstmals seit der Auslobung dieses Preises im Jahr 2003 wurde der Hauptpreis an eine Gruppe vergeben. Das Team des Fotohof versteht sich seit Beginn der Galerietätigkeit im Jahr 1981 als gleichberechtigte Gruppe von Fotografen*innen und Kulturarbeiter*innen. Alle Entscheidungen − von der jährlichen Ausstellungsplanung bis zu Entscheidungen über die Aufnahme von Künstlern in das Archiv − werden vom Kollektiv getroffen. Dieser Teamgeist ist sicher auch entscheidend, dass der Fotohof in einem so breiten Feld − Ausstellungen, Verlag, Didaktik und Archiv − erfolgreich tätig sein kann und seit 40 Jahren internationales Ansehen genießt.![]()

Daher ist es auch ein besonderes glückliches Zusammentreffen, dass dieser Preis zum Beginn des Jubiläumsjahres 2021 − "40 Jahre Fotohof" − vergeben wurde. Auszug aus der Begründung der Jury:![]()
"Den Internationalen Hauptpreis für Kunst und Kultur, dotiert mit 12.000 Euro, erhielt das Fotohof-Team. Seit der Gründung des Fotohof im Jahr 1981 steht die Förderung der Fotografie als Kunstform im Zentrum der Tätigkeit des Vereins. Der Fotohof genießt als nicht kommerzielle Informationsgalerie mit eigener Editionsreihe, Fachbibliothek und Archiv weit über Salzburg und Österreich hinaus hohes Ansehen."![]()
